Do I get all my Hi-res Images?

I do not offer the Hi-res images from your session. I do give you all of your images on a disk in Lo-resoultion. Hi-res images are only used for printing purposes and I only want the best Headshots in front of industry. The Hi-res RAW Files (Digital Negatives) I have stored on a Hard drive in my Studio and on a Hard drive at Colorworks so they are safe.

Why do you not give out the Hi-res Files?

It is quality control purposes. I have had issues before where the wrong people were retouching photos I took and did such a bad job at it. That work reflects myself as a photographer and you as an actor. I only want the very best for you and myself which is why Colorworks are the only company allowed to work on the photos, if not me. The Lo-res Files I give you, you can use for anything internet related. You just cannot print from that disk.

What is I need more then the two photos retouched?

Your package already includes 2 retouched Headshots through Colorworks. All you have to do in contact them with the 2 photos you need retouched and they will bill me for them. Anything after that you will get billed directly from Colorworks. Here is the link to their pricing break down: http://colorworksnyc.com/pricing

What happens if it rains or I get sick?

If the weather is bad or you get sick we will certainly reschedule. At your consultation I like to book 2 dates and have the 2nd as a rain date. No matter what we will get the session in and your photos will look amazing!

Why natural light over studio lighting?

I love the softness of natural light. For me it enhances you. Studio lightening can be very harsh if it is not setup right. I want to make sure you are the center of attention and that you shine through. I also find being indoors confines you to one area and it can get uncomfortable, where as going outdoors you are free to move around. Plus, because I blow the background out we can find so many interesting colors and backgrounds where in doors we cannot do that. Shooting outdoors allows me to personalize you Headshots session and not just stick you in front of a white background.

There are so many great photos, can you help me choose?

I can certainly do that for you. There are two ways we can do this. The first is for an additional $75 I will go through all of your photos (500+) and I can narrow them down to my favorite 75 images and upload them to a gallery for you. That way you only have to go through 75 images and not 500+. The second way we can do this is by you going through all your images and making special galleries within your gallery I sent you (I will walk you through it). Once you made the galleries of your favorites you can send them to me via email and I can go through just your favorites and give you my opinion on the best ones. Either way I can certainly help you out in selecting.

Do You have a Hair and Makeup Artist?

Yes I do and she is the best in the business! She would be an additional $150 and would be on set the entire session. She will collaborate with you on each individual look and see is anything would need to be changed for that particular look. Plus she will be there during the session to look for makeup issues while we shoot and also for hair issues like fly aways and etc... She is so crucial I believe to the entire session. Check her work out at : www.lyndseyariel.com

What is the Best time to photograph?

To me the best time to photograph is certainly the early morning or late afternoon hours. The light is so beautiful and soft. During the afternoon the light is a bit more harsh so we may have to walk around a bit to find some shade, but is can certainly work.

Do you photograph in the winter?

Yes I do. Yes it is cold out but winter light is the best light. It is soft all day long and the cold keeps us awake so we capture everything we need in a quicker pace. The quality will blow you away.

Do you photograph many actors in a day?

At most I will only photograph 2 actors in a day. I want actors to feel calm and enjoy the session and not worry about being rushed. I know there are photographers out there who will photograph as many actors as possible in one day That is just not me. I want to enjoy the session and not feel rushed either. My goal is to capture the most IMPACTFUL images possible and we cannot do that is we are rushed.

 Do you offer Consultations?

Yes I do and I insist upon them! If I photographer does not offer you a consultation and just wants to book, odds are they are only looking for your money and will do a horrible job. I want to meet the actors that I am going to photograph. I want to learn about you and see who you really are. I want to be able to collaborate with you and figure out where our session will go. Plus we need to be comfortable with each other. If we are not, then the session will be pretty awkward. So yes! We should certainly meet for a consultation. If not in person then the very least by Skype.

 How do I Book?

First go to the contact page and fill out the form. Then I will send you an email with pricing and if you would like to meet up for a consultation. Then we can set a date for your consultation. Then if we are a great fit and want to work with each other we will set a date for your Headshot Session. Then I will send you a contract and an invoice for the deposit. Once all this is signed and paid then we will  be all set and booked.

Since you photograph outdoors, what happens if it is bad weather?

Simple answer is we just reschedule. During your Headshot Consultation we will discuss two dates. One that you really want to photograph on and the other as a rain date. Please note that it is simply that, a rain date. We are only going to use it in bad weather or if you get really sick.

How do I pay and when?

All balances are to be fully paid at the end of your session. You can either pay in cash, check, or credit. American Express is not excepted (sorry). Of course cash or check is the preferred payment. All checks can be made out to  RJ Lewis Photography.
